Further, the large locals in CA could have set up Multiple Area Bargaining Organizations (MABOs) that would set &#8220;bargaining minimums&#8221; that no local could undermine, meaning every contract had to meet or exceed those minimums. In the MABO, &#8220;an injury to one is an injury to all,&#8221; that is, if one local is left hanging unable to meet the minimums, the remaining locals refuse to sign and either roll strikes or strike at the same time. The large locals could have served as examples to the smaller units. Furthermore, UTLA and the rest needed to set up Freedom Schools, all over the city, where the very real babysitting needs (add food, health care) of kids and parents are met. Everything started off fine. DaBruzzi was named Rookie Teacher of the Year at two different schools, she loved the kids she taught and was regularly rated \u201chighly effective,\u201d the highest possible teacher rating.<\/p>\n<p>But in October, just two months into the current school year, she resigned from Palm Valley Academy where she was a fifth-grade language arts and social studies teacher.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI resigned before I even had another position,\u201d DaBruzzi, 36, said in a phone interview Friday. \u201cIt was hard because you don\u2019t want to leave kids in the middle of the school year and I did. But it just got to be so bad. My own family was suffering.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to a report published by the Wall Street Journal last month, teachers like DaBruzzi and other public education employees, like community-college faculty and school psychologists, are quitting their jobs at the fastest rate since the data began being tracked in 2001. House Bills 2002 and 2015, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azmirror.com\/2018\/12\/27\/bills-targeting-political-speech-by-teachers-could-violate-first-amendment\/\">proposed<\/a> last month by Republican representatives Mark Finchem and Kelly Townsend, respectively, would allow the state to fire teachers who discuss politics, religion, or racial issues in classroom settings. Finchem\u2019s bill appears especially strict. They wanted to pass them on to reporters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"canvas-atom canvas-text Mb(1.0em) Mb(0)--sm Mt(0.8em)--sm\" data-reactid=\"14\">Carranco and Milton \u2014 undergraduates in their mid-20s at Concordia University in Montreal \u2014 weren\u2019t full-time professional journalists. But their work would eventually lead to the downfall of one of the internet\u2019s most prominent neo-Nazis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"canvas-atom canvas-text Mb(1.0em) Mb(0)--sm Mt(0.8em)--sm\" data-reactid=\"15\">After meeting with the anti-fascist activists, Carranco and Milton received expansive chat logs that went back to August 2016 and contained more than 12,000 messages. Members in the Discord chat spouted racist, misogynist and anti-Semitic rhetoric and celebrated far-right violence, including Alexandre Bissonnette\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/entry\/bissonnette-quebec-mosque-far-right-terrorism_us_5ad4bdb9e4b077c89ceb2acd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">killing of six Muslim men<\/a> at a mosque in Quebec City.<\/p>\n<p class=\"canvas-atom canvas-text Mb(1.0em) Mb(0)--sm Mt(0.8em)--sm\" data-reactid=\"16\">But what made the cache of messages especially valuable was its organizer: Zeiger, a pseudonym used by the second-most prolific writer on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/entry\/neo-nazi-andrew-anglin-first-amendment-judge-whitefish_us_5becc692e4b0dbb7ea66fa14\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Andrew Anglin<\/a>\u2019s neo-Nazi Daily Stormer website. This message tends to be met very favorably by the governments across the GCC.<\/p>\n<p>But beyond just generally disliking Iran and making a non-specific anti-Iran posture a goal, any sort of practical policy efforts are going to be a harder sell. In particular, Pompeo is expected to continue President Trump\u2019s goal of selling the region on an \u201cArab NATO\u201d that would be hostile toward Iran.<\/p>\n<p>How easily that will be sold as a formal body remains to be seen. This alliance is envisioned as Saudi-led, but generally doing what the US wants. Stennis has adopted these deities as the pillars of their religion, according to a Navy release.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">The chapel onboard Stennis is where Aviation Electrician\u2019s Mate 2nd Class Joshua Wood, a once-Roman Catholic sailor from Eagle River, Alaska, fills the duties of Heathenry lay leader, a position of religious leadership that must be appointed by a unit\u2019s commanding officer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mco-body-item mco-body-type-text\">\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">As the most senior practitioner of Heathenry \u2014 he has been observant for five years now \u2014 Wood is tasked with leading a small group of sailors devoted to the Norse gods and goddesses in weekly services that are even advertised on the ship\u2019s one-main circuit.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.navytimes.com\/off-duty\/military-culture\/2019\/01\/07\/heathens-hold-religious-services-rooted-in-norse-paganism-aboard-aircraft-carrier\/\" class=\"autohyperlink\" target=\"_blank\">www.navytimes.com\/off-duty\/military-culture\/2019\/01\/07\/heathens-hold-religious-services-rooted-in-norse-paganism-aboard-aircraft-carrier\/<\/a><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"title\">U.S. Soldiers Plead Guilty to Attempting to Smuggle $1 Million Worth of Cocaine from Colombia Aboard Military Plane<\/h1>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"u-block aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/card_img\/1083778223627005952\/ZjEdL4kB?format=jpg&amp;name=144x144_2\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Two American special forces soldiers have pled guilty to conspiring to transport $1 million worth of cocaine from Colombia to the United States aboard a military transport plane.<\/p>\n<p>Former Master Sergeant Daniel Gould, 36, and Sergeant 1st Class Henry Royer, 35, who were both Army Green Berets, were caught when they attempted to transport 90 pounds of cocaine via a military aircraft last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/your-army\/2019\/01\/04\/two-army-green-berets-plead-guilty-in-plot-to-smuggle-90-pounds-of-cocaine-from-colombia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><em> Army Times<\/em> reported<\/a> this weekend. According to the report, the soldiers had already successfully trafficked a large quantity of the illicit drug from the South American country in the past, selling it to a distributor in Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Gould and Royer had previously transported 22 pounds of cocaine from the Colombian city of Cali to northwest Florida. He made a compelling case for single-payer health insurance, progressive taxation, the restoration of union organizing and collective bargaining rights, and positive climate action.<\/p>\n<p>It was a good progressive-populist talk with some nice identity politics thrown in for the university crowd. It\u2019s absurd to believe that a psychiatrist who has spent a couple of hours talking to a patient in an office is qualified to make this diagnosis \u2014 but one with access to hundreds of hours of a patient\u2019s interviews and improvisatory remarks, along with a small library\u2019s worth of biographical information and testimonials from his closest confidants \u2014 is not. On August 10, 2018 he writes on his website: \u00abXinjiang today is \u2018a police state to rival North Korea, with a formalized racism on the order of South African apartheid,\u201d wrote one expert. Its residents make up only 1.5% of China\u2019s population \u2013 but accounted for 21% of arrests in 2017.
